The mapper in our group who’s style I first started working from did a lot of underdark locations – set-pieces that would be used for encounters or recurring locations while exploring the long catacombs of the underdark.
In the vein of said work, here is a massive fortified staircase to connect an upper area or mezzanine to some lower caves.

Sweet map, Dyson!! I see the party having to battle their way through Duergar that have amassed in defense of the interlopers!!

… and where does that ladder lead to/from. Hmmmmm….
Dang, Dyson. Your maps always inspire great ideas for adventures! This one is no different…
Nice map – I am curious about the checked walls – is that a map code for “fortification” or for a short wall – cause I’m stealing it due to it looking good, and being easier to draw than individual arrow slits.
I got it from “Keep on the Borderlands” where it represents battlements – so a half-wall with crenelated battlements along the top.
As always, nice work!

And jeahr, i see my adventure group get this point as a rest place not knowing of the near base of… monsters.
