There is a slight chance that as a repeat reader of my blog, you may have become aware that I adore old school hand-drawn maps.
Even better, I keep running into more of them as the years go by. These maps inspire me in a way few computer generated maps can – I’ll admit that there are some amazing CG mappers out there (I’m thinking of Ed Bourelle and Chris West in particular, but I’ve had my mind blown repeatedly by just about every style of mapper out there).
Anyways, I was recently emailing with Kevin Campbell regarding his delicious precision hand drawn maps from the 80′s. Uber upside? He just had them added to the PlaGMaDA database.
Check out some of these awesome pieces!

And there’s a lot more of these brilliant pieces over on his PlaGMaDA page.
I love the site. I just posted up a d20 dice container I made. Have a look. =)
Sorry, It’s on here. http://jaysurma.wordpress.com/
Omg! I’m in love with some handrawn coastlines….
WOW! Love the coastal map! Checked out the link to Kevin’s album and I am impressed. Thanks for the “point to”, Dyson!
By the by, do you do any castle/keep maps? I see that you have an awesome selection of dungeons, temples, and ruins… just curious if you have done anything akin to Keep of the Borderlands or similar fortifications.
Hey there, I’m Tim Hutchings, they guy who runs the plagmada.org project. Thanks so much for linking to Kevin Campbell’s maps, it’s amazing stuff. Please look around the rest of the site and get a feel for what we’re doing, then run out and tell your friends. Don’t just tell your gamer friends, tell your buddies who _used_ to game with you. We’re really trying to reach out to ex-gamers in order to bring their game documents into the archive, because ex-gamers throw things away and the whole purpose of the archive is preservation.

Tim… what a fantastic idea! I wish that I had something from my *cough* 80′s gaming days to contribute. Lost nearly all resource material in apartment fire several years ago and restocking is painfully slow. Hopefully acquiring new material and getting back into the gaming realm soon.
