To the Mines!
Yeah I like it. As a DM I’d find the grid helpful, especially when I’m transferring the map bit by bit onto a large sheet of perspex for the players.
I find the grid useful too. Though maybe there is a mid-point compromise? You know, where the grid lines are there but maybe a tad more understated? I don’t know if it is my imagination or not but it seems like the grid lines in Dyson’s Delve (for example) were a little more subtle than these?
The Delve was drawn on a graph paper that scanned in better than some, thus the grid lines survived the scanning.
I really like it! In my opinion, the grid is useful indeed. And I like the way you added it. And this one is a great map! Now, show us the mines!!
Yeah, I really prefer grid lines. Every time I’ve used one of your maps I’ve always added grid lines myself, so having them there from the get-go is pretty awesome. But, you missed a room there in the middle!
That room’s full of fog…
But, yes, the grid would be helpful. But I like the idea of having it somewhat more decent, too.
oi! Hadn’t noticed that!
Grid is very helpful indeed. But don’t focus to much on it: symmetry is boring. (imho)
I’ll be the dissenting voice, I guess, but it is because what I do with these maps after you post them. I generally take them and tweak them a bit, then add my own grid. The fact that (until now) they haven’t come with grids has made this easy, so I prefer them without grids already in the image.
That goes double (triple, even) for geomorphs.
I have to add, even though I genrally like the grid lines, I would like “my” geomorphs without grids, too – they are easy enough to add and easy enough to imagine in game because of the simple layout of the borders.
I really like the gridlines, personally.
I like the grids, personally. you can clearly tell the one room (center of map) where the gridlines didn’t get added.
Great way to add scale to the map, although it does increase visual complexity a bit.
So long as players don’t think they are constrained by the grid, looks good to me! Thanks for posting all these maps. Got me thinking about doing more of my own.

Personally, for most purposes I like grid lines. This doesn’t detract at all, IMHO
Well, done, as always
Keep the grid !! That’s way better.
A thought might be to tint the grid lines a bit, this would make it easy for those who are fooling with the images to remove them.
I like the grid lines too, though I agree they would be better if there was a way to lower the opacity somewhat to make them a bit more understated and set them apart from the wall lines.
Hmmm. Maybe try making the outdoor grid just dots at the vertices?
I prefer it without the lines, although if they are there, I prefer a much lighter shade of gray. They should be available but fade from the background. Right now they are way too dominant and takes away from the look of the map itself.
I prefer visible grids to help with with ranged effects. I also like them because, when I blow your maps up on the printer and piece the maps together using standard printer paper, the grids make it easy for mini use.
Hey Dyson, I love the map, as always it is another great example of your work. I’m especially liking the crumbled ruins of the large entrance chamber. As for the gridlines, I don’t think they really detract from the map at all. When I need a grid for a map that I drew without a grid, I go to this website http://incompetech.com/graphpaper/ I can create a grid and then layer it under my map. It works well and I can adjust the lnes to be very fine. I’m sure you already know about that site though. Great work dude!!!
Hi Dyson, just to note that there is a room without grid on the map.
Great work, thanx for all, I enjoy a lot your maps.

I think the grid makes the map less realistic, but if there isn`t grid is good to have a scale in centimetres or inches to make an idea of the size of the dungeon.
