Stag Centaur

Stag Centaur image from Heavy Metal magazine

A semi-mythical breed of centaurs related to the elemental plane of earth (or possibly the home plane of the wood elementals, if you use wood elementals in your game), the stag centaurs are magical beasts imbued with the power of their elemental kin.

Stag Centaurs are generally more hirsute than normal centaurs and the males are easily identified by their massive antlers. Although imbued with even more natural armament than normal centaurs, stag centaurs are at least as non-aggressive as their typical kin.

In addition to their natural attacks, stag centaurs have a small number of magical abilities from their elemental heritage. In a natural environment, stag centaurs can cast entangle 3/day. A group of stag centaurs can summon a wood elemental (or earth elemental). The size of the group determines the power of the elemental in question. Summoning the elemental takes one round for each stag centaur involved in the summoning. The elemental is automatically friendly to the centaurs, so the centaurs do not need to concentrate on controlling it.
