Map of the Secret Throne Room
Lord Venrau was one of the first human lords to revolt against the Kale during the second human revolts. His success against the Kale inspired may other kingdoms to revolt – although the success of his own endeavour was not purely his own.

Another map and description from my Atlas of the New Kingdoms journal & notebook, this is an adventure location I used about a decade ago to launch a campaign seeking out the creatures who aided Venrau to overthrow the Kale ages ago.
Unknown to his contemporaries, and only rumoured by a few sages today, Lord Venrau’s success against his Kale masters was not the results of his skilled leadership, but because he was crecruited by extra-planar creatures of chaos who were seeking their own revenge against the Kale.
Once the mass revolts were underway, Lord Venrau’s otherworldly allies departed in secret, and shorthly afterwards Kale armies razed his castle frotress and killed Lord Venrau.
The ruins of his castle, primarily the throne room, remain today as “Caer Venray” and are occasionally visited as a memorial to the war against hte Kale. What no one has discovered to date is the secret throne room beneath Caer Venrau where his otherworldly allies once resided – and where some of their magical guardians and treasures are still bound to be discovered.

Map of the Secret Throne Room
This is completely awesome. I love the fact that the lower floor of the hidden throne room is flooded.
I’m really liking this “Atlas of the New Kingdoms” concept…
I’ve been wanting to get back into D&D through a nearly pure miniatures avenue and some of the maps and descriptions you have are just inspiring! Where can I get more, more, more?? (I have printed most of your blog already…)
Awesome. I love the implications and tantalizing threads this has hanging off it.
