Just curious, have you considered doing any double sized geomorphs (width, height, or both), to give you space to do larger rooms?
I like how you’ve handled the edges, treating them as open corridor and freeing yourself from alignment issues. A potential problem with this approach would be that there’s too much open corridor in your finished map. Are you concerned or do you have plans to address that?
The final maps would have them all link up directly, without the space between them. That “corridor” between them in the weekly compilation posts are just an artifact of posting them on one page – as it stands, they all line up together because their entrances are set at the same places around the edge.
To give myself more “flexibility”, I’ve allowed myself to have some of the entry points lead straight into dead ends.
Basically I expect that I’ll take them and plug them directly into each other as a DM, and add an appropriate entrance at one end and a variety of “end caps” at the loose ends.
Maybe I’ll take a poke at making a few double-sized ones, but I’ve never been a fan of huge rooms in a dungeon – bigger than 30×30 just seems immense, having worked in construction.
THis is a really cool project.
I like using smaller rooms as well, although for throne rooms and such, I Do like to go as big as 50×80
And here I was thinking “geomorphs, where am I going to find some dungeon geomorphs? I’m not that good at drawing my own…”
Thanks!
